      Description

      See https://community.voltdb.com/comment/reply/644

      Starting from voter:

      create table votepairs (pn1 bigint not null, pn2 bigint not null, attr1 integer not null);

      15> select * from votes as A, votes as B, votepairs where A.phone_number = votepairs.pn1 and B.phone_number = 2;
      Unexpected Ad Hoc Planning Error: ERROR: Unable to plan for statement. Error unknown.

      1) First, fix the error message to be something more meaningful than "Error unknown" (as part of timebox)
      2) Find root cause of error
      2) Hopefully fix the issue within timebox, otherwise log cause here.

      DONE:
      retested on 3.3 to verify that it gives a clear error containing "VoltDB does not support self joins" when tried either compiled or ad hoc. Self-joins is a known limitation ENG-451
