It's a bit too easy to run into the catalog CRC failure. We've seen users compile catalogs as part of a node startup script on multiple nodes, but our compiler isn't bitwise-deterministic for the same input. This causes a CRC failure that isn't really warranted (though fairly easy to avoid once known).
Seems like we should do one or both of the following for post 1.0:
1. Have nodes pull the catalog from a peer node at startup, ensuing everyone is running the same catalog.
2. Make the compiler bitwise-determinisitic for the same input.
