1. I believe it is currently impossible to turn the HTTP admin/json port off or restrict it in any way.
2. It's impossible to discover which port HTTP is running on after startup. There should be a sysproc or it should be part of the statistics.
3. If you specify port X and port X is in use, maybe the system should not try port X+1 automatically? This maybe makes sense for 8080, but if you want a specific port, maybe the right thing to do is to fail if you can't get it? Needs more discussion.
Ritesh has had some issues that prompted this ticket, but it's not directly related.
